We have approximately 250 people based in Cambridge, whose roles cover the full spectrum of our commercial operations, corporate functions, and some of our R&D functions. A true community located within a hub at the forefront of life sciences, our Cambridge site has been an important part of the UK biotechnology sector since 1989.



Located close to London, our Uxbridge site is home to around 250 people in global, regional, and UK-focused roles. As a European hub for R&D with strong links to our global organisation, our community of dedicated teams are responsible for driving clinical trials, securing regulatory approvals, and enabling patient access in our UK and Ireland markets.



Our Irish affiliate is a smaller organisation with a leadership team that promotes a culture which reflects an Amgen family. We employ approximately 30 people who are committed to providing access to innovative medicines, through working in partnership with our regional and global teams, as well as alongside healthcare providers, to improve access to care and enhance the patient experience whilst receiving treatment.

“I joined Amgen in 2005 and have held several regulatory affairs roles at the company. The UK is Amgen Europe’s largest Hub for R&D, and as the Head of Regulatory Affairs for Europe, co-lead of R&D for Europe, and the Head of R&D for the UK Sites, I have the privilege of working alongside hundreds of talented and committed colleagues in the UK and Ireland, and many more who are based regionally and globally. We collaborate cross-functionally in the relentless pursuit of breakthroughs that reach patients, with our diverse teams in research and development, the commercial affiliate, and our corporate functions, putting everything into the work they do each day to dramatically change people’s lives. Innovation and science really drive the Amgen culture and we are inspired by a collective mission to serve patients. For me personally that involves having responsibility for developing and executing our regional regulatory affairs strategy and working closely with the medical R&D team to contribute to the advancement of Amgen’s portfolio. I also partner with the head of the UK and Ireland affiliate, and regional and global leadership, to inspire our people through employee-led engagement activities that aim to create a community feel to our company. It’s a role that I find hugely rewarding and I believe that all of us at the company have a part to play in shaping the future for Amgen and for patients.”

“I’m an Executive Director in the Regulatory Affairs function, leading the oncology therapeutic area. This involves working with a team of talented staff to navigate our products through the complex regulatory framework in Europe, with the aim of bringing our medicines to patients. Maximising the full potential of our pipeline requires close collaboration with multiple teams who share the common goal of serving patients. In addition to ensuring the successful development of the pipeline, I’m an active member of ‘Amgen’s Full Potential’- a global programme designed to improve a wide range of areas across Amgen – through supporting our patient centricity efforts to best integrate the patient voice in all that we do. I’m also fortunate that, in addition to my ‘day-job,’ I’m, a member of the leadership team which, along with numerous volunteers across our business, works to build an inspired employee community. I enjoy being part of the culture at Amgen, learning about the advances in science, working with talented colleagues, and being able to contribute to the diversity of opportunities and challenges that arise from bringing new medicines to market.”
