Since 1980, Amgen has grown to be one of the world’s leading independent biotechnology companies, reaching millions of patients around the world with medicines that defy disease and reinvent possibility. Our tools help us understand human genetics. Our passion makes us fight relentlessly. Simply put, what we do is hard. But, when you are changing the world, it should be.

In 2014, Amgen inaugurated its groundbreaking Next Generation Biomanufacturing facility in Tuas Biomedical Park, marking the company’s first manufacturing site in Asia.

Also making it monumental: It was Amgen’s first commercial-ready site aimed at increasing production capabilities. Our goal is to make life-changing medicine more accessible to patients around the world, and Singapore has proven core to that vision.

A first-of-its-kind manufacturing facility, this facility uses the latest innovations and multiple technologies to achieve greater speed, productivity and flexibility in commercial-scale manufacturing. Built in half the construction time and at approximately one quarter of the capital cost, this facility boasts a significantly smaller manufacturing footprint and higher environmental efficiencies with less water and energy consumed and carbon emitted. In less than 2.5 years, the facility has successfully achieved regulatory approvals to produce biologic medicines from various major international regulatory bodies.

In 2015, Amgen further expanded our manufacturing presence with the establishment of its first commercial chemical synthesis manufacturing facility.

Located at Tuas Biomedical Park, this facility produces the active pharmaceutical ingredient to treat multiple myeloma. The facility has since achieved regulatory approvals from various major international regulatory bodies in 2019.

In the same year, Amgen established its commercial presence to serve patients suffering from serious illnesses in Singapore. Partnering local governmental bodies and the community, this local affiliate drives Amgen’s commercial business development, marketing and sales efforts and ensures our innovative biopharmaceuticals reach patients, payers and physicians across the region. It currently has 10 innovative medicines marketed in Singapore and proactively support programs to address healthcare challenges.

Amgen’s expansion in Singapore brings new jobs and even more innovative therapies to the Asian-Pacific region — and far beyond.

Every Amgen team member is empowered to dare. Dream. Do the hard work. And, ultimately, drive change in the world.

Since our launch in 2014, Amgen Singapore has consistently received industry recognition for our differentiated people and workplace experience.

These accolades include:

  • SkillsFuture Employer Award 2019
  • Great Place to Work® and Great Place to Learn™ Certifications
  • Certificate of Recognition for Corporate & Societal Excellence by Amcham Singapore
